WONDERFUL WEDNESDAY AND 70 WEEKS.

 Wednesday, May 4, 2011

Time for an update post on this blog and 70 weeks seems the perfect time to do it.

Please listen to and enjoy what has become my Anthem  - Kenny Chesney  and Dave Matthews- I am Alive.

So damn easy to say that life’s so hard
Everybody’s got their share of battle scars
As for me I’d like to thank my lucky stars that
I’m alive, and well

It’d be easy to add up all the pain
And all the dreams you sat and watched go up in flames
Dwell on the wreckage as it smolders in the rain
But not me, I’m alive

And today you know that’s good enough for me
Breathin' in and out's a blessin' can’t you see
Today's the first day of the rest of my life
And I’m alive, and well
I’m alive, and well

Stars are dancin’ on the water here tonight
It’s good for the soul, when there’s not a soul in sight
But this boat has caught its wind and brought me back to life
Now I’m alive, and well

And today you know that’s good enough for me
Breathin' in and out's a blessing can’t you see
Today is the first day of the rest of my life
Now I’m alive, and well
Yeah I’m alive, and well

[Thanks to Brent Goens for lyrics]

Thank you for taking the time to visit and share my joy at being "Alive and Well"  - at times I am totally overwhelmed by the whole thing - My Donor, his family, the miracle of surgery and the progress I have made.

Each day holds new joy for me in the little things and this song is particularly special to me with the lines

"And today you know that’s good enough for me
Breathin' in and out's a blessing can’t you see"

this is a constant reminder of how difficult it was for me to breathe when I had the pleural effusions.  Just getting in and out of bed was an ordeal and I couldn't walk to the letter box at the front of the house without sitting down for a rest before venturing back inside.

I count my blessings daily and to My Donor and his Family:

Thanks for taking the journey with me and reading "A Liver for Linda"

Love and hugs,

Linda.

Please remember to register as an Organ/Tissue Donor - this is the address for Australia.
